MED’s story starts with Medardo Reggiani, who established the company in 1971 at Reggio Emilia, Italy and who was able to turn his life philosophy into entrepreneurial excellence, inspiring to the whole company the values of continuous improvement and constant innovation thanks to a great talent in shaping ideas. |

More than 30 years later, the company is a leading reality in the field of Alternative Fuel Components. In the beginning, MED specialized in the LPG solenoid valve production: it presented a new valve conception, more economic, safe and performing, supplied to the main LPG system makers in Australia, Holland, USA and Italy. |

In 1974 the need to diversify and enlarge the product range induces MED to combine solenoid valve production with the manufacture of an electromechanical antitheft device. During the following years, steady investments in research and development lead to the design of the first truck antitheft device, brought to market in 1977: an innovative solution for immobilizing the vehicle engines. The idea, immediately successful, is fully supported by the most important insurance companies, which start requiring it to make good transports safer. |

In the 80’s the company continues developing new solutions: the first antitheft device for petrol driven cars comes to life, the first alarms are introduced and in 1985 a car remote controll system is developed. In this period MED is the first manufacturer to introduce alarm systems that can be programmed in many functions directly by the installers as well as by the end users. |

More new solutions are introduced to the market starting from the 90’s. MED presents the first alarm system with CAN interface able to dialogue with the vehicle using the original remote control. MED also makes solutions for programming of alarm systems via the internet and starts distributing its products to France, the UK, Holland and Germany.
Soon the companie’s commercial network starts also to include further markets like Russia, Israel and Korea. |

MED’s market position consolidates rapidly and in 2001 the company joins the Landi Renzo Group, the world’s leading manufacturer of CNG and LPG systems. |

With renewed energy MED continues its growth in the field of Alternative Fuel Components: in 2003 with a high-quality CNG tank valve conceived for the OEM market, in 2004 starting the production of specific gas injectors featuring high-repeatability, while in 2007 the company introduces new electronic control units for the management of CNG and LPG driven engines. |

Fully sharing values and strategies such as R&D investments, the use of sofisticated technologies, the focus on continuous qualification of the companie’s human ressources, MED has been able to accomplish a quality leap highlighting the excellence of products “made in Italy” in international top-level contests and giving support to Landi Renzo’s quotation at the Milan Stock Exchange in 2007. |
